She had a screwed up childhood. Her mother died early on in a car accident. So her dad became her bastion of stability. Sidney grew independent and strong emotionally. In her first year in Uni when she got recruited into a bank. Her dad was against it because he wanted her to focus on her studies. Studies before work.
Then things got a little complicated. It turns out the bank was a front for the CIA! How nice for Sidney, the newbie with verve and passion for saving the world. She moved up quickly to field agent, kicking ass as a spy. Ah, those nubile full body spins. When it all seemed to be nice and dandy, the agency had her fiance 'rubbed off' because Sidney told him she was a spy. How shitty is that?!
Later, Sidney had her life, beliefs and commmitments turned upside down once again. She discovered that the agency she worked for were the bad guys. Ta-dah! So much drama, so much intrigue. And I lapped up every torment-ridden, kungfu-action, multiple-costume minute of it. The best was yet to follow - Rambaldi, Anna Espinoza, Sark, the return of Mom!, losing 2 years of her life, losing her handler and hubby Vaughn, Vaughn's wife Lauren who turned out to be a bad ass, Arvin's return, Sidney's sister Nadia...
Alias - Great writing, great megaplots, superb actors. Kudos to a great five years.
